Our book ‘Being in Nature’ contains two mindful practices that are great to try out this season. Autumn in the northern hemisphere is a time of change, when nature stores up energy for the winter ahead, and the trees create a riot of colour across our landscapes.

Our practices point out the scientific benefits of getting out amongst the falling leaves. One of those is to experience the natural scent of damp soil – known as ‘petrichor’ – which helps us feel calmer and more relaxed.

Published today – our new book ‘Being in Nature’.

This is a momentous day for us, the culmination of years of research, coaching, and teaching on the science of nature and health – and three years of planning for the book itself.

It’s been quite a push to get it ready for Christmas, but all being well it will be arriving in time to fill stockings around the world. We are excited to be able to help people experience even more from their time in nature – this book is far more than just a good read…we hope it is the start of a personal adventure into nature connectedness, and an increased sense of belonging to the natural world.
